Healthy Snacks To Keep At Your Desk

Healthy Snacks for Work - Keep them at your desk or in your bag!

Whether you work from home, in an office, or somewhere where you’re running around all day, it’s a great idea to keep a handful of healthy snacks at your desk or in your bag to grab whenever you’re feeling a little peckish.

Whether you work from home, in an office, or somewhere where you're running around all day, here are some healthy snack ideas for your desk or bag so you can grab them whenever you're feeling peckish!

I always bring my own lunch and snacks to work because it’s less expensive and I’m more likely to make healthier choices that way (although sometimes I cave and get the pumpkin bread from the cafe near work – it’s ahmazing). Here are some ideas to make your desk the healthiest, most delicious place in the office:

Nuts & Seeds

Healthy Snacks For WorkThese are some of the best snacks to keep at your desk because they don’t go bad easily and they’ll keep you full between meals. Almonds, pecans, walnuts, hazelnuts, cashews, and pumpkin seeds are some of my favorites. Stick to unsalted varieties, although dark chocolate-covered almonds are fine in my books ;)

Dried Fruit

Healthy Snacks For WorkThe types of dried fruit you can find are endless which means you’ll never get bored. Stock up on one or more packets of dried pineapple, mango, apricots, raisins, cranberries, apple, goji berries, figs, dates, berries, coconut, etc. Stick to unsulphured and no added sugar varieties.

Fresh Fruit

Healthy Snacks For WorkInstead of having a candy bowl at your desk, why not have a fruit bowl? Apples, bananas, pears, avocado, cherries, and peaches are great options that don’t really need refrigerating.

Rice Crackers / Ezekiel Bread

Healthy Snacks For WorkI like to spread avocado on rice crackers or Ezekiel bread with some lime juice and Himalayan sea salt on top. Another option is to top either with some almond butter, banana, honey, and cinnamon.

Snack Bars

Healthy Snacks For WorkThere are so many snack bars out there, but you want the kind without high fructose corn syrup. My favorites are the Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Lara Bars and Dark Chocolate Cherry Kind Bars.

Kale Chips

Healthy Snacks For WorkI loooove the zesty nacho kale chips from Trader Joe’s because they’re delicious and they come in a handy snack-sized bag. Most grocery stores sell kale chips these days. You could also make your own and bring them to work, like these chocolatey ones.

Chocolate Chips or Dark Chocolate

Healthy Snacks For WorkWe all have those days when we need a chocolatey pick-me-up, and it’s better to have some relatively healthy options at your desk rather than having to buy whatever’s at the cafe. Theo’s Chocolate is my go-to because it’s delish and local to me!

Tea

Healthy Snacks For WorkNot a snack per se, but I always have tea at my desk to sip throughout the day. My favorites are Blueberry Green Tea, peppermint, English breakfast, and chamomile.

Extras

Healthy Snacks For WorkLemon, lime, cinnamon, honey, and chia seeds are all great for adding some variety and flavor to your snacks. If you have a fridge at work, you could also keep things like almond milk, nut butters, and coconut water in there.

Snack Combinations

Healthy Snacks For WorkHere are a few ideas for combining those snacks you’ve got stashed at your desk!

  • Dates + Almond Butter + Cinnamon
  • Rice Crackers + Avocado + Lime Juice
  • Ezekiel Bread + Almond Butter + Banana + Honey + Cinnamon
  • Coconut Water + Chia Seeds = Chia Fresca
  • Pumpkin Seeds + Goji Berries + Chocolate Chips
  • Apple + Almond Butter + Cinnamon + Honey
  • Almonds + Sunflower Seeds + Dried Strawberries + Banana Chips
  • Almonds + Chocolate Chips
  • Green Tea + Chia Drink

What snacks do you like to keep at your desk?

  1. Hey Catherine!

Can I just say how much I already love your site? Your layout is amazing and so is your content! I also eat the same healthy snacks and I love the idea of those combinations!

P.S. Please let me know if you have any tips or suggestions on how to get some great templates! I’ve been meaning to change my blog template but am not exactly tech-savvy enough to do so!

    Big Love, Vanessa

  2. It’s always nice to read about healthy snacks ideas because I personally struggle with eating healthy between meals. My favorite has to be the dark chocolate haha :) but I also like to eat fruit and snack bars. I’m really curious about the kale chips though, I know they’re really popular now but we don’t have them here in my country which is a shame… x

  3. Wow, these are literally the things I eat all the time! I always have a hard time convincing myself to spend the money on good, healthy snacks- chocolate covered almonds and fresh fruit are my favorites- but then I realized that I would rather spend money on healthier foods that I actually enjoy instead of unhealthy snacks that I get from a vending machine because its faster, which end up being more expensive in the long run. This is a great list! Thanks for sharing!

  4. I’ve been reading your blog for a while and it’s all very inspiring to me. I have a question in regards to this article, if you have the time. I’m a very picky eater and would like to, and have tried, eating healthier but so many healthier foods are unappealing to me. I’m not sure if it’s the lack of taste or a bitter taste. My question is, do you have any suggestions for people who are pickier eaters? Any answer is very appreciated. Thank you for this and for all the help on your blog.
