33-Piece Spring & Summer Capsule Wardrobe 2015

Spring & Summer Capsule WardrobeI know what you’re probably thinking.

What the heck, Catherine? Why are you posting this when summer is practically over?!

I’ve been meaning to do this post for months, but I think I was just putting it off because I wasn’t 100% satisfied with my closet. I realize now that things will never be perfect, and I’m actually quite content with what I’ve been wearing for the warmer months.

Without even meaning to, I have exactly 33 items in my wardrobe, which is a common number for capsule wardrobes. I don’t personally have a system for deciding how many pieces go into my closet. My only real rule is that I wear every single item :)

Not sure what a capsule wardrobe is? Here ya go!

Unlike my last capsule post which included only clothes I’d wear to work, this post includes everything that’s currently in my closet minus a few pieces here and there that I haven’t worn much. I do work in quite a casual office, but most of these pieces are versatile enough that I can make them look a little more dressy if I need to!

Maybe this will be useful for those of you who live in hotter climates or maybe you’ll get inspiration for next summer. Either way – I hope this is interesting and/or useful to someone!

Spring/Summer Capsule Wardrobe Combinations

As you can see, I like to include pops of color alongside more neutral pieces. Proof that a capsule wardrobe doesn’t have to be monochrome! And I didn’t include items like plain white tees simply because I’m planning to do a separate post about basic items to include in your capsule wardrobe!

Do you have a capsule wardrobe? What’s your favorite piece of clothing right now?

  1. I love your style! I would wear all of these outfits! I think a summer capsule wardrobe is a such a good way to downsize and get creative with fashion! :) Love this post!

  2. I love how you have pops of color in your capsule wardrobe! As I was sorting through my clothes, I realized that I didn’t have very many shirts that would go well with skirts. The shirts I have are usually just thrown over a pair of jeans. So next time I go shopping, I’ll be sure to keep that in mind! I really love that last outfit :) -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s

  3. What a lovely capsule! It’s so succinct but so colorful, which is a surprising and exciting combination! I’m always in black and white but I definitely appreciate those who make a capsule work with color and pattern.
