My Top Three Goals For November
This month has been a crazy whirlwind of trying to juggle a massive project at work while also trying to get blog posts and newsletters out, but I DID get to spend four glorious days exploring Seattle and being total tourists with a friend from college. It felt really good to get out of the regular routine of things and not have to worry about adult-like responsibilities for a change.
Because of everything going on at once, unfortunately my goals got pushed down the priority list of all the things I had to do. I’m starting to wonder if setting three goals is an unrealistic goal (goal inception!) for myself and whether I should stick to one or two. What are your thoughts on the amount of goals you should set for yourself at a time?
Despite the setbacks, it did turn out to be a pretty exciting month because two of my blog posts were shared on social media by popular minimalist bloggers (Becoming Minimalist + Be More With Less), and I also published my first ever eBook which is all about decluttering your home! In other exciting news, I’m planning to do my first giveaway on the blog sometime in November, so make sure to look out for that!
Now before we get into my goals for November, let’s do a little recap of my October goals!
OCTOBER GOALS RECAP
1. Limit my screen time.
You know, I think I did a pretty okay job of not spending too much time on electronics in the evening, although I really wasn’t keeping track of it that much. My undereye twitch has definitely gone though, so that’s one less thing to worry about!
2. Get back into yoga.
Erm. I think I did yoga a total of three times this month, which definitely didn’t meet my goal of 2x per week. But that’s better than nothing, eh?
3. Step up my newsletter game.
I sent out two newsletters this month which means I accomplished this goal! I think two is a reasonable amount for me to commit to, so that’s what I’m going to continue to do. Thank you to everyone who signed up – I gained almost 300 email new subscribers this month! MADNESS. MY TOP THREE GOALS FOR NOVEMBER
1. Get up when my alarm goes off.
Throughout high school and college, I was never one to snooze my alarm in the morning. I wish I could ask my former self how the heck I managed to do that because now I mega-struggle to get up when my alarm first goes off. I always feel awful if I fall back asleep after my first alarm goes off, so I want to put a stop to that and get up without snoozing.
2. Squeeze in at least 10 minutes of exercise each day.
I have a very sporadic exercise routine right now – let’s be real, it’s not even a routine. Some days I go to the gym for 30 minutes, but mostly I snooze my alarm (see above goal) and then sit on my butt all day while I’m at work. If I can squeeze in at least 10 minutes a day, I know I’ll feel a lot better about myself. I also know that if I tell myself I only need to do 10 minutes, I’ll most likely end up doing more than that. It’s the getting started part that’s so difficult!
3. Host a scope!
Are you guys on Periscope yet?! If not, it’s a platform on your phone where you broadcast a live video and people can join in and chat with you real time. I absolutely love watching people talk about everything from business to de-stressing tips, and seeing someone’s personality beyond their blog posts creates a much more human connection. SO, I’ve been wanting to do a scope for a while and I’ve decided I’ll do one this month! You just need to download the app, find me on there (@theblissfulmind), and make sure you have notifications turned on so it’ll let you know when I go live.
