20 Productive Things To Do On A Sunday
Do you ever wish Sundays had a pause button? Maybe you spend Friday and Saturday having a grand old time, but when Sunday comes along, you feel rushed to prepare for the week. Or maybe you spend way too long tucked under the covers in the morning and feel like you’ve wasted the whole day.
By the time Monday comes around, you’re in panic mode because you’re totally unprepared for the rest of the week. I’ve been there so many times, and I’ve often spent an entire Monday simply trying to get myself ready for what’s to come.
If this sounds a whole lot like your current routine, I’ve put together a list of 20 productive things you can do on a Sunday to make next week more manageable. Plus, you’ll save you a huge amount of time in the coming week.
Of course, you don’t have to do EVERYTHING on this list because there’s only so much time in a day (and Sunday is best spent relaxing, after all). I’d recommend choosing a few things that will help make the rest of your week easier. Do 1, do all 20…it’s up to you! Keep reading to find out how to prepare yourself for a productive week.
For your to-do list
Write down your top 3 priorities for Monday. Plan out your day around these top priorities. Here’s how I plan out my day using Google Calendar.
Review your calendar for the week. There’s nothing worse than forgetting about a meeting and showing up unprepared, so take a quick peek at what’s coming up this week.
Schedule tasks and projects throughout the week. Make sure they’re spread out and manageable, instead of added in at the last minute.
Spend 10 minutes checking your work email. This may sound like a stress-inducing nightmare, but it will help you feel more prepared for your Monday workload. Write down any tasks that need your attention, and file anything that doesn’t need a response.
Plan out 3 steps that will help you with a side project. If you have a side hustle or hobby you’re passionate about, dedicate time in your calendar to work on it.
For your space
Clean up the document folders on your computer. File it or delete it! I have a blog post about organizing your digital files here.
Wash your makeup brushes. Who else always puts this off until the last minute? Those things get nasty and can end up clogging your pores. Castile soap helps get out any stubborn makeup.
Plan your outfits for the week. I recommend using the Stylebook App, aka a gift from the outfit-planning gods.
Check your bank account. Make sure you haven’t been over-spending. If you have, make a plan to cut down this week. Check out this simple guide to budgeting your money!
Organize your drawers and closet. Finding clothes in the morning will be a lot easier if you can actually see where things are.
For your well-being
Decide which workouts you’re going to do this week. Schedule them in your calendar like appointments so you’re less likely to skip them.
Take a walk. Going for a walk is one of my favorite ways to clear my head before the start of a new week.
Clear your mind with some yoga. Don’t forget to take care of yourself! Spend some time on your mat to get re-aligned for the week.
Pamper yourself. Slap on a face mask, run a bath, and light your favorite candle.
For your sanity
Plan something fun for yourself. A dinner date, fitness class, movie night, picnic, etc. Get yourself excited about something!
Take a break. Do absolutely nothing for 10 minutes. Savor this stillness before the busy week begins.
Set your alarm for a time to turn off electronics. Give yourself about an hour before you plan to go to sleep. That way, you have enough time to settle down away from the harsh glare of a screen.
Write down anything that’s nagging in your head. Before you go to bed, try journaling or writing down any worries you have so you can go to bed with a relaxed mind.
Get to bed at a reasonable hour. If you often find yourself staying up too late, here’s how to quit doin’ it.
