Hello, lovely people! Welcome back to another installment of my monthly goals. In case you’re new here, I set myself three goals for each month with the intention to uplift my mind, body, and soul in some way.
Before we get into my goals, I want to first of all say thank you for all of the incredible comments on my post about vulnerability and the big changes going on in my life right now. I am so grateful to have such a wonderful community of blog readers and friends who genuinely care about me, and it feels so good to know that I’m not alone with everything that’s going on.
I’m feeling pretty good going into May because it’ll be an exciting and busy month: I’ll be moving to Seattle aka my favorite city in the world, getting my groove on at my friend’s wedding, and celebrating my 25th birthday in LA over the Memorial Day weekend! It already feels like summer here in the PNW, and I can’t wait for all of the sunshine and good times to come.
Now let’s do a little recap of last month’s goals and talk about my new goals for May!
APRIL GOALS RECAP
1. Read every night before bed
Fail. Major fail. I just…no. It didn’t happen because I didn’t make it a priority.
2. Run 40 miles by April 30
Nailed it. I had such a good streak in the beginning of April because the weather was so wonderful, but my motivation definitely fizzled out later in the month when it started raining non-stop. I still managed to reach my goal though, and the Nike running app became my best friend for tracking how many miles I was doing.
3. Listen more actively
I think I did a pretty good job with this one! I made a conscious effort to stop what I was doing and fully pay attention whenever someone was talking to me. Sometimes I would forget to be fully present if we were at the beginning of the conversation, but I quickly noticed if I was trying to multi-task or if my thoughts were drifting elsewhere and I’d snap back into active listening mode. Pro tip: if you really don’t have the mental capacity to listen to someone, let them know that you need a moment and that you’ll be able to fully listen once you’ve had some time to gather yourself.
MY GOALS FOR MAY
1. Write in my journal daily
I haven’t made an effort to write down my non-blog related thoughts in a long time, and I’ve seriously been missing it in my life. I feel as though I have too many thoughts that I’m just storing in my brain, and I need a place to get them out. My plan is to take 10 minutes each morning to write about whatever comes to mind and hopefully free up some space in my noggin.
2. Follow the Tone It Up Beach Babe Plan
Even though I’m not one to typically follow plans for getting a ‘bikini body’, I love the Tone It Up girls and their workout plans. I’ve decided that with everything going on this month, I just need someone to tell me what to eat and which workouts to do rather than spending the mental energy trying to figure it out for myself. I purchased their 8-week beach babe package, and my goal is to stick to it for the next two months – I want to get my money’s worth, after all!
3. Wake up at 6am every day
My sleep schedule has been all out of whack lately, and I still find myself snoozing my alarm even though it always makes me feel terrible. I know there’s so much I could get done (like journaling and exercising aka my other two goals) if I gave myself that extra time in the morning to be productive, so I’m going to make an effort to get to bed at a reasonable time and stop snoozing my alarm in the morning!

Love your goals, friend!! And congratulations on all that running. Wow! I’m inspired! And I’ll be waking up early too! xo
Woohoo! The waking up early thing is tough – hope it’s been working out for you so far! xo
I love your goals!! I follow the 8 week bikini series too and love to have someone who tells me exactly what to eat. Makes things so much easier :) x Charlotte
Right?! I know how to eat healthy, I just hate planning it when I have so many other things going on at once haha
I’ve never bought any kind of bikini bootcamp remedy before and I NEED to know… is it worth it??? Cuz that is a lot of money to me my friend. Please let me know what you think :)
I will let you know for sure! It was a hefty amount, so I’m hoping it’s worth it haha
Good luck with your goals, I don’t think I could ever wake up at 6am everyday!

It’s a struggle for sure haha! Thanks!
I haven’t done anything like run 40 miles, but I’ve been trying to go on more walks. I’ve also struggled with this when the weather took a turn, but otherwise, I’m really enjoying my walks! -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s
Yes, walks are the best! I’ve been squeezing one in on my lunch break every day at work since it’s been sunny out.
That sounds like a great list! I have to check out that Beach Babe plan, I don’t think I know it yet :) Working out is definitely something that is still on my own list and I am hoping to tackle that :) I still have to write my post about my goals for the month, but I am hoping to have that online by Thursday.
Can’t wait to hear how you are doing :) Oh and big yes to the waking up early! It is such a game changer!

Are you an early riser always? Do you have any tips for getting out of bed early? I love hearing people’s tips haha
I have been trying to wake up at 5:30 am every morning, some days are good and some days are a lot harder. What has helped me so far: going to bed early, changing my alarm tone to a favorite song, something upbeat, and this last one has been the most effective, keeping in mind my purpose for waking up early and the excitement that comes from achieving that, which in my case is quiet time with God in prayer and reading. Hope these help!!
I always love reading your goal posts. Nothing quite like a new month for a fresh start! I’d love to try and run more but am in the middle of exams at the moment.

I hope the exams went well, Pia!
Your posts are always so motivating! You just reminded me that I should start exercising regularly. Thank you for inspiring me!
Thanks so much, Ana! Glad I could provide some inspiration :)
Wishing you much success on your May goals. I love journaling, it has been my therapy.
