It’s finally here! I’ve been talking about moving to a new place since April, and I’m so excited to actually show you guys what my new place looks like! There were many, many trips to IKEA involved in creating this little set-up (it’s kind of hard not to go when you only live 10 minutes away), and I love the simplistic, Scandinavian-style decor, so the whole apartment basically looks like an IKEA catalog.
That being said, it’s REALLY difficult to get that Scandinavian feel in an apartment with carpet. Floorboards would make this place 100% perfect. Okay, let’s get on with the tour. Be warned, there are a lot of pictures…but that just means you get to Pin them all on Pinterest ;)
Living Room
The living room is definitely one of my favorite areas, mostly because it’s perfect for eating ice cream while watching 30 Rock. I haven’t had a TV for a looooong time, and it definitely beats watching Netflix on my laptop.
My mom upcycled this chair from Goodwill – she’s so thrifty! Those exact cushion covers aren’t available any more, but I got them from H&M Home and they always have a great selection online.
I decided to follow the whole gallery wall trend – man, is that a process! It’s so difficult to figure out which picture should go where and if they should be horizontal or vertical. Eventually I settled on this little layout which is small enough to not look cluttered. The larger prints are from IKEA and the smaller ones are from Society6.
This little side table is actually mean to go in the bathroom, but it was the perfect height and color for our living room. Sometimes you have to get a little creative!
Pretty sure I killed this plant already. RIP little guy. I absolutely love having plants all around the apartment, and besides this one, they’re all still alive and kicking. Also my stepdad made that coaster – yay for DIY-savvy parents.

Dining Room/Kitchen

I absolutely love this bamboo drop-leaf dining table. It’s usually just the two of us eating at the table, but it’s always nice to have enough room for guests.
The gallery wall in the back is totally not finished in this photo. There’s just a placeholder with some blue tape. I am clearly a professional at this apartment tour stuff.

Bedroom
This is probably the most minimalistic room of them all. But I think it’s important to have a peaceful, calming place to sleep and that’s exactly what the bedroom feels like to me!
Here’s my capsule closet – yep, all of my clothes fit on one side! I also have another larger closet with a drawer for underwear and workout clothes.

Office
I love being able to have a little office at home. My old room wasn’t large enough to have a desk, so I’m definitely grateful for this space!
I made this ‘C’ out of a cardboard letter from Michaels and just stuck some gold paper on there. So simple! And this weekly list is from Rifle Paper Co.
These cards are also from Rifle Paper Co. Their stuff is so lovely. The London & Paris prints are greeting cards I picked up a small boutique in Poulsbo, WA, and the Amsterdam one is a print I found here.

It looks lovely!! I definitely prefer the minimal look, and our flat occasionally looks that way when we get cleaning! We have a gallery wall too and it totally took forever to put it together! xx

Haha well our place definitely got a little bit more cluttered after we look these pictures. Having a minimalist place makes it easier to clean, though! And I swear I looked at so many how-to articles to try and figure out the best way to do a gallery wall lol xx
I have to know… where is all your stuff?! There is no clutter anywhere! I am so jealous. I love how you have designed and decorated everything. So simplistic. : )
Haha, Claire! I swear we aren’t hiding anything. I guess because I’ve moved around a lot in the past 2 years and Nick has been living in a community with 10 other people, we just didn’t have much stuff to begin with! I’m glad you like the decor!!
Congrats on moving in! Your apartment looks so great! I really love that little side table next to the couch :D I also like how the bedroom is the most minimalistic space :) -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey’s
Aww thank you! I was a little hesitant about the side table at first haha but it works pretty well at holding our DVDs!
Your home looks lovely and love the minimalistic style you got going there!
Kind of looking for a bigger place with my bf, but at the same time we haven’t finished renovating our existing apartment and I really love it and the neighborhood. We’ve only come by re-doing our kitchen so far, making it probably the biggest kitchen for a 1-room apartment lol
Thank you, Isabel! Props to you for renovating, I don’t think I would handle that very well haha. I’m too indecisive and impatient – I’d want it finished right away!
Oooh this looks sooo YOU! My favourite part is your office and I’m so jealous of how few clothes you’ve been able to cut down to! Congrats on the new place :)
Hahaha I love that you know what my style is without even meeting me in person! :p I feel like I finally have all the clothes I really need (minus a pair of tan booties lol). Thank you so much, Naomi!
what a nice, beautiful and cosy home!
Thank you! :D
Catherine, I love your blog so much! I’m so glad we found each other in the blogging world. You are inspiring. I’m really looking forward to following along with you!
Yay, that makes me so happy Lauren! I love your style xx
Hi! Beautiful home. Very inspiring. Where did you get the black meditating frog shown on top of your bookcase? It adds the right charm and contrast to the white bookshelf and desk.
